Travel writing yielded some of Mandate's best nonfiction. For that reason, this chapter and several others in the coming weeks will highlight a number of worldwide travel features and accompanying photos. We start in the Caribbean, with billets-doux from three balmy islands. In next week’s chapter, titled “Three Continents for the Price of One,” we jump from South America to Egypt and from there to Japan, Thailand, and Singapore. Later chapters sample Europe and North America from a gay point of view.
